CREATING BRIGHT FUTURE Termoelektrarna Šoštanj is a limited company, with Holding Slovenske elektrarne as the sole member. The Company is under the management of the General Manager and the Managing Director. The Company’s principal activity is generation of electricity and thermal energy for district heating. With an installed power of 1029 MW, the Šoštanj Thermal Power Plant generates, on average, one third of the energy in the country, and in periods of crisis, it can cover more than one half of the national demand. The average annual electricity production ranges from 3,500 and 3,800 GWh. The average annual production of thermal energy used for district heating in the Šaleška Valley amounts to 300-350 GWh. To achieve the above-mentioned annual production of electricity and thermal ener
